Cartwright and Moylan Finalize Second Debate
Scranton, PA – Congressional candidates U.S. Representative Matt Cartwright, and his Republican challenger, David Moylan, the Schuylkill County Coroner, have finalized the logistics of their final debate.
The two agreed to participate in two debates before the November 4 general election earlier this year. A live debate has already been scheduled for Wednesday, October 29 at the WVIA Studios in Pittston Township, Luzerne.
Today, Cartwright said that the Allentown Morning Call has confirmed the final debate that will be held on Tuesday, October 21 at the WLVT studios in Bethlehem, Northampton County. The debate will be sponsored by PBS39 and the Allentown Morning Call.
“Again, I look forward to the opportunity to discuss the many critical issues facing northeastern Pennsylvania and the nation during two televised debates. It’s important for voters to see and hear that they have clear choices in this election,” said Cartwright.
Cartwright has represented Pennsylvania’s 17th congressional district since being sworn in on January 3, 2013. The district includes all of Schuylkill County and portions of Carbon, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, and Northampton Counties. Cartwright serves on the House Committee on Natural Resources and the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.
Since taking office, Cartwright has been a leader among his colleagues, introducing 43 pieces of legislation, being elected as a freshman class President and being named a “Moderate Democratic Leader” by the non-partisan watch-dog group, GovTrack.
